70. STAN'S, Boise, ID

Craving a hot dog? Frozen Custard? A delicious burger?

Bet you are now.

Give this place a try. I myself have only been there twice. The first time I met Stan himself he told me the best things to eat. I had a hot dog with Bronco sauce. Not really sure what it is and how it differs from chili but it was good. I'm a fan. A little pricey for a hot dog, but they are gourmet and well worth it.

The menu is full of beefy items perfect for the a sports fan appetite. Decorated with local high school banners, and of course many Bronco items.

Located in the Vista Village shopping center on Vista Ave. Stop in and have a bite.
When you are full you can roll yourself over to Lees Candies, Ceramica, The Dollar Tree
 and Idaho Camera. (These places might appear on the blog soon.)

Apparently everyone loves this place.

65. CAPRI RESTAURANT

Yummy!!!!!

I could almost leave it at that but I have so many exciting things to tell you about this downtown diner. At the door we learned that are soon to be friends were the new owners of Delsas, our post from Tuesday.

The friendly staff, delicious comfort food, and 70's decor could rival any old school diner, even the restaurant from Cheers. A perfect place for old-fashioned breakfast, hamburgers, and the best biscuits and gravy I have ever eaten. EVER.

Since we were new to the restaurant I asked the waitress what she recommended...The Capri Breakfast, the Biscuits and Gravy, and the burgers. I had already had my heart set of the Denver omelet so whats a girl to do? I ordered both.... I know you are thinking, that is a lot of food and trust me it is but I only got 1/2 on order of biscuits and gravy and shared it with others.  Trust me even if your heart is set on an omelet or french toast, go with biscuits and gravy. You won't regret it.

Perfect hours: Monday- Sunday 5:45am-3pm

The best part is they are inexpensive, considering how delicious the food is. None of our bills were over $10.00.

63. DELSA'S ICE CREAM, Boise, ID

This was my first time of what is sure to be many more times at this retro style diner and ice cream parlour. Decorated traditionally in black, white, and red, and their own splash of sass with teal. It was originally opened in 1961 by Owen and Delsa Walton and though the decor and menu have changed a time or two, the delicious homemade ice cream that made this place a hot spot in the Treasure Valley is still a staple.

Famous for "super, duper, premium you can't get this anywhere else-soft serve ice cream"

Next time you are craving some all-American food, stop by for fries, burgers and a shake.

I heard the Reuben sandwiches are amazing also.

Delsa's is located on Ustick between Cole and Milwaukee. Open Mon.-Thurs. 7 am-9 pm; Fri.-Sat. 7 am-10 pm; closed Sunday.

48. HOLIDAY FARMER'S MARKET, Boise, ID

46. GOODWOOD BARBECUE CO., Boise & Meridian, ID

Okay, so we know that this amazing restaurant isn't only in the treasure valley, but it sure is a treasure that began right here in the treasure valley, so it counts.

Goodwood started in 1999 when two "lifetime friends" wanted to bring the casual dining experience back to the past of owner-operated restaurants.  You know, back when you knew where your food was coming from and you could actually meet the owner because they are actually in the restaurant.

So they have some focuses in order to make their guest's dining experience the best ever.  The first is their fresh food made daily from scratch in a closed-pit cooking style.  We're not a hundred percent sure what that entails, but we are sure that it is 100% delicious.  There isn't anything on the menu that we have tried that has not been excellent.

The good people at Goodwood also want to make sure that we, the guests, are treated so good we want to come back.  They have their team focus on being genuine and caring for those they serve.  And they have succeeded.  There has never been a time when we have gone that the staff has been rude or put off by our requests.  Another of their goals is to have their menu feature many different varieties and be a great value.  There is definitely something for everyone there and it is affordable, especially for the amount of food you get and the friendly atmosphere.

Featured in the pictures is the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Smashed Potatoes, Chicken Fried Chicken, and onion rings.  Also delicious for sure are the Oven Roasted Turkey, Mom's Potato Salad, coleslaw, Burnt Ends Brisket, the ribs, any of the salads, the salmon...pretty much anything.  It is sooo good, you have to try it.

45. MOXIE JAVA, All

In 1988 Moxie Java opened it's first store in Old Boise and now has 70 stores across the U.S. Many of these are scattered across the Treasure Valley.

The Moxie Java headquarter are located on Chiden in Garden City. This is the location where each of the coffees are roasted and bagged.

In 2006 the Moxie Java Vision changed to include bistros along with their kiosks and cafes.

Moxie Javas include Mochas, Latte, Espresso, Italian Sodas, Steamers, Teas and their signatures the

Moxaberry, Moxacream, Moxacinno.

Since I don't drink coffee I thought I would recommend my personal favorite.

Hot Chocolate with toasted marshmellow flavoring.

42. MRS. POWELL'S CINNAMON ROLLS, Boise, ID

Move over Cinnabon, this Idaho grown cinnamon roll shop features delicious homemade delights.  Located in the Boise Towne Square Mall at the edge of the food court at the top of the escalators.

 These are the traditional cinnamon rolls.  They are made fresh everyday.  Try them warm, they are delicious.

 These cinnamon twists are the best.  Delightful in every way, they are the prefect mix of cinnamon and frosting.  They are huge, so you might want to bring someone to share it with you if you are watching what you eat (or eat the whole twist by yourself, we won't tell anyone ;)

 These are the pecan rolls.  All full of maple and pecans,  they are perfect for when you are feeling a little nutty. 

Also famous on the menu is the soup in a bread loaf.  Trust us, this is the best way to eat soup.  Don't believe us?  Well go try it for yourself, you will be converted.

 Also available on the menu are chicken salad croissants and breadsticks.

When you go, make sure to say hi to our friend Stephanie, the baker, has been working there for 8 years.  That girl knows her baked goods.

40. POWELL'S SWEET SHOPPE, Boise, ID

I love when shop is spelled "shoppe".  I think it just rings of old fashioned good times.

Powell's Sweet Shoppe sure fits the bill. Located at 3064 S. Bown Way, this candy store is FILLED from floor to ceiling with sweet treats. FILLED is actually an understatement, I think they have every kind of candy ever made.

Its amazing. A Wonka Corner, Soda Shoppe, giant Pez, an M & M rainbow, Candy Land Corner, Gelato, Old fashioned candies, sugar-free candies, chocolates and novelty candies.

We tried the Chocolate Covered Bacon so you don't have to. Four out of four didn't like it. Best of luck if you try it.

Within walking distance of my work this place had become a staple for breakfast and lunch at the office. With a full selection of homemade bagels and schmear there is a variety for everyone.
