1. THE TREASURE VALLEY

Welcome to the Treasure Valley Treasures blog.  In this, the very first post, we want to introduce you to the Treasure Valley.  For those of you who live here it is a little bit of a refresher and for those of you don't perhaps you can understand why we love it so much.  So here is some history...

The thriving metropolis we call the Treasure Valley was once known as the Snake River Valley (I’m glad I don’t live there ;)  But in 1959 that all changed.  Pete Olesen had an idea to change the name…“this valley is a virtual treasure chest of natural resources, abundant recreational and cultural opportunities, agricultural diversification (and) commercial development potentials.”  Thanks to him we don’t live in a valley named after creepy reptiles.

For the next year we will be exploring what this vast valley has to offer.  Our adventures will take us all over the Treasure Valley—west to Vale, OR, east to Mountain Home, ID, south to Melba, ID and North to Weiser, ID.  We will explore each town along the way discovering the treasures within this great valley.
